Monet in Zaandam

2021 - ongoing

Zaans Museum

Tungsten designed a special audiovisual installation for the Zaans Museum using twelve analog slide projectors. The paintings that Claude Monet made in Zaandam at the end of the 19th century, almost without exception show a so-called descending water feature at the bottom of the canvas. This inspired Martin Grootenboer to take the reflecting water a step further within the walls of the museum by projecting the paintings slowly into one another above a mirrored lacquer floor.

A serene and surprisingly timeless set-up that can be seen until October 2021.
